Juice Fasting Minus the Juice

Tired of Juicing? Switch Up!

If you’re ever in the midst of a juice fast and are either a) tired of cleaning, preparing, and juicing fruits and veggies or b) would like to go into a deeper cleanse for a few days, you can switch up! Just eliminate the juices and enjoy ionized alkaline water and herbal tea for a few days.

Going Off the Juice

Some of you may prefer cutting out the raw juices cold-turkey; others might like diluting the juices and weaning yourself from them as you transition into your water/herbal tea cleanse. I’ve juice fasted quite a bit and have tried both ways. Although the juice-diluting-transition way is surely easier on your system, I never seemed to feel any different whether I weaned myself or stopped drinking the raw juices one day and started drinking the ionized water/herbal tea the next.

A Deeper Detox

Now, if you fast for several days on water and herbal tea alone, you might notice the detox symptoms either again, or more than before. Some folks breeze right on through, while others endure headaches, achy, flu-like symptoms, runny noses, and you may feel especially tired and need extra rest during this time. Your body has gone into a deeper cleanse, a deeper detox and these are things that happen as your body is trying to rid itself of toxins it’s absorbed from the air we breathe, foods we eat, water we drink—even the clothes we wear.

Detox Tip: To help relieve yourself of some of the harsher detoxing symptoms, you can always try a warm water or organic coffee enema to assist your body’s toxin elimination process.

Going Back to Raw Juices

When you feel like your body is needing raw juices again, for added strength, and to perhaps even pull the reins on that detox wagon, try making yourself a small glass of diluted apple or pineapple juice. Once you sense your body craving the juice again, you can introduce raw juices back into your regimen. Dilute each glass of juice with a little water if you need to until you get used to drinking the juices again.

Ron Laqerquist, of freedomyou.com, tells us about enzymes:

Enzymes are protein molecules that act like spark plugs in the body. Without them we would die. Ninety-eight enzymes have been found in the arteries. Enzymes such as cytochrome qxidase, peroxidase and catalase are components of red and white blood cells. A high source of these enzymes are in the green leaves of plants. It has been discovered that they can fight toxic substances, helping protect the body from cancer.

I absolutely love how Ron compares enzymes to spark plugs!! It’s super fun to learn about the body and nutrition when it’s presented in such a creative way.

Juice—Not Java!

In an interview at bewellbuzz.com, Raw Food Expert, David Wolfe, states:

Juicing is like taking a supplement. Within 20 minutes of drinking a fresh vegetable juice, the nutrients are in your arteries and veins. Also, the absorption rate of juice is 99%, whereas, even the best human digestive systems in the world are claimed to only absorb 40% of the food value eaten daily.

Who needs coffee, right?!
