Help: Juice Fasting is a Headache!

Why the Headache?
Frustration has set in, right? You’ve spent money on a juicer, carefully shopped for beautiful organic produce, searched deeply and mustered up all the motivation you can, only to discover you’ve awaken with a splitting headache on day two of your juice fasting attempt. You can’t see straight it hurts so badly and you’re ready to just give up and give in to the temptation to gobble up that delicious real food that seems to be calling your name. Don’t give up. Not yet. There’s a legitimate reason for your horrific headache, and it won’t last forever. Honest!
Headache, Hear Me Out!
There are three important keys to detoxification, says Jeanne Grunert. They are: 1) avoiding toxins, 2) improving elimination, and 3) encouraging natural health. All those years of candy bars, cheeseburgers, soda, ice cream, all sorts of processed foods and drinks, have taken a toll on your system. Okay, so you’re thinking: but I haven’t eaten those foods—at least not much of them! Well, the environment is loaded with chemicals, pesticides, poisons--harmful things that are absorbed by our largest living organ: our skin. Toxins are in the air we breathe, food we eat, water we drink or swim in; they’re everywhere! How are things moving along with your bowels? Once a week? Twice a week? You must move those bowels; toxins are camping out in them! And, as for encouraging natural health, that’s what we’re working on with the juice fast. You’re cleansing your system and loading it up with all those living nutrients the fruits and veggies contain.
Here’s What’s Happening
This is what’s happening to you: Your body has lots of toxins and by cutting out those processed foods, non-organic foods, or caffeine, etc., it is trying to eliminate those toxins at a fast rate—faster than your body is used to dealing with. So, both the toxins that are trapped and the ones that are on their way out, traveling and dancing all through your body, trigger a headache.
Headache, Go Away!
So, how do you make this annoying headache pack its bags and leave your house? No, I’m not going to tell you to reach for that bottle of headache pills. The headache remedy is three words: warm water enema. That’s right. Many times it’s as simple as administering a warm water enema and helping speed up the process of eliminating those trapped toxins. You may even notice a tremendous relief from your headache as soon as you empty your bowel, right after the enema.
Don’t know how to take a warm water enema? Purchase an enema kit, boil 2-4 cups of water, let it cool until it’s comfortable to the touch, pour it into the enema bag. Now, lay an old towel on the bathroom floor, hang the enema bag on a hook or door knob nearby, lay down, insert the nozzle, try to hold the water in for a couple of minutes, then empty your bowel. Simple. It may not work every single time for every person, but it has worked for me every time—without fail. (And I’ve juice fasted extensively for the last few years.) Another option, if you’d like to try it, is an organic coffee enema.
Hallelujah! It’s Gone!
Whether the enema makes your headache go away or it naturally leaves on its own as your body adjusts to the raw veggie and fruit juices you’re bombarding it with, it will leave. Now, you’re successfully over the worst of your very first juice fast, and you can transition into the phase of juice fasting where you start to feel lighter, healthier, rest better, and so much more—good for you for persevering!
Juice Fasting Tip:
Be sure to get enough rest. Take naps if you can at all. Even better, start your juice fast on a weekend or during a time when you’ll have a couple of days off from work.
