Constipation and Magnesium Deficiency

constipation and magnesium deficiency

A lot of jokes are made about constipation and producing putrid gas, but for fifty million Americans this is a very serious issue and one that affects a large part of your health.  Constipation has been shown to be related to the following diseases: Diverticulitis, Hemorrhoids, Benign tumors, IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Spastic bowel, Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, Gout, Rheumatoid Arthritis and even obesity.

So how do you know if you are constipated?  If you have less than a good full bowel movement every day you are experiencing constipation.  It is even better if you have two to three movements daily and yet I see patients who have a bowel movement only every two or three weeks.

If we abuse and neglect our colon and hinder the elimination process, the toxins that should be removed will continue to build up and be reabsorbed into the bloodstream. This creates a serious health issue known as autointoxication or self-poisoning.  Autointoxication is the process in which the body literally poisons itself by maintaining a cesspool of decaying matter in its colon.  These toxic compounds are the result of rotting food that should have been eliminated every twelve to sixteen hours from your body.

So how can you help get your bowels moving regularly?  One simple and inexpensive solution is to supplement with easily absorbable magnesium.  In contrast to stimulants that irritate the colon causing the bowel to rid itself of the irritation they cause, magnesium attracts water acting like a sponge keeping the colon moist, supporting normal elimination. We use a magnesium complex containing magnesium aspartate, pea powder, millet and lentil powder with chlorophyll.  Not only does it help maintain daily bowel movements but it also supplies the body with essential magnesium which is so necessary for the functioning of all the body’s cells.

So if you are not having a daily bowel movement, why not consider adding magnesium to your diet and start feeling better?
