Raw Beauty Tips to Prevent Wrinkles!
“Free radical damage causes wrinkles by activating the
metalloproteinases that break down collagen.”-- Heather Brannon, MD
Eat Raw, Living Foods
The more raw, living foods you consume the better your chances are of feeling—and looking—your best. With all of those phytochemicals, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and nutrients your body absorbs from quality organic produce, you’ll be ensuring that your skin is receiving the nutrients it may be lacking in and/or needing. It’s no wonder you’ll find yourself glowing radiantly inside and out!
Hide from the Sun’s UV Rays!
It is assumed that one of the main reasons for deep wrinkles is simply due to aging; however, the sun’s ultraviolet rays actually dry out and damage your skin, thus creating free radicals.

What can you do to protect yourself against those harmful UV rays? Wear a hat and apply organic (raw) coconut oil to your face, neck, arms, legs (any exposed skin) before going out—especially if you plan on being out in the sun for a significant amount of time. The organic coconut oil protects your precious skin against those damaging UV rays.
Water = Hydration = More Supple Skin
Always be sure to drink enough water—especially ionized water. By giving your body what it’s truly thirsting for, you’re not only drinking water, you’re hydrating your body. It’s common sense, really. If your body is dehydrated, your skin will be, too. Not only that, but by flushing your system with water, you’ll be eliminating pesky toxins and going the extra mile to prevent wrinkles from forming!
Exercise for Wrinkle Prevention!
By moving your body regularly and keeping your blood pumping, you’ll be supplying your skin with nourishment (your skin’s main source of nourishment is provided by your bloodstream) because exercising enhances the circulation process and sends blood to your skin. This is extremely helpful in preventing those dreaded wrinkles. That’s right! You can walk, jog, swim, bike—whatever sport or movement you personally enjoy—just get moving!
Note: You can also do those old-fashioned facial exercises like your grandmother did. They really do help!
Mother Knows Best
Organic (raw) apple cider vinegar with Mother (the living enzymes that settle in the bottom of the glass bottle) is another natural ingredient for skin care and wrinkle prevention. You can even make your very own skin toner!
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner Recipe
What you’ll need:
• Water (preferably ionized water)
• Organic (raw) apple cider vinegar with Mother
• A bottle or container (with a lid)
• Cotton ball or make-up pads (optional)
What you’ll do:
• Add 1 part vinegar
• To 4 parts water
• Pour in the bottle
• Close the lid and shake
• Apply once or twice daily
Note: If your skin isn’t overly sensitive, you could even go half and half (50% vinegar/50% water) in your recipe. You can experiment with the measurements and find a solution that best fits your skin’s needs.
You may also see a vast improvement in the appearance and health of your skin by drinking organic (raw) apple cider vinegar daily and/or using it in recipes such as vinaigrettes. To drink it, simply add 1 teaspoon (up to 1 tablespoon) of the vinegar to a glass of water. You can also stir a little honey and the vinegar into a cup of hot water and drink like a tea. It’s very soothing and good for you (both inside and out!).
Raw Organic Coconut Oil
In previous articles, we’ve looked at how raw organic coconut oil is excellent for beauty such as when I shared tips and tricks in Organic Coconut Oil = Raw Beauty and we also learned how it’s an excellent tool for losing weight in Organic Coconut Oil for Weight Loss. Today let’s talk about organic coconut oil for wrinkle prevention. I’ve already mentioned how you can apply it before going out into the sun to protect yourself against harmful UV rays. You can also apply it once you’ve come in or even if you’ve already been sunburned. Add a dollop in your bathwater and enjoy how it will leave your skin feeling silky smooth. Use organic coconut oil in your vinaigrette recipes or just drizzle over your salad (or any other food). Some people even eat it straight from the spoon! By gobbling up organic coconut oil (a healthy fat), you’re caring for your skin as if it were royalty.
Ever wonder if there was any truth to this theory? “I’m going to get my beauty rest” my aunts and grandmother always said. I often wondered what on earth they were talking about because I never could understand how sleeping could make you beautiful. I do believe this theory now, though. Let me miss sleep and I can see a huge difference in my skin, eyes, and those dark circles creep up, too. Get a healthy amount of sleep (true rest) so your body can do what it needs to at night: rejuvenate you through and through!
So, you definitely want to eat as many raw, organic foods as possible, get plenty of exercise (and rest!) and even treat yourself to little extras like organic face masks, sitting in a sauna, or homemade facials from ingredients found right in your own kitchen (such as avocado, raw oats, honey, strawberries…). By loving yourself enough to use these tips, you’ll be more relaxed and by keeping the stress down, you’ll also be keeping wrinkles at a minimum.
