Organic Coconut Oil = Raw Beauty
When people compliment me on my skin and ask what my secret remedy is, I have to smile….
What Do You Use On Your Skin?
Ani Phyo, Executive Chef and Cofounder of SmartMonkey Foods, shares a few of her beauty secrets in her book: Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen. Ani says if you don’t want to “smell like a pina colada, you can buy [coconut] oils with little or no scent”. She uses organic coconut oil to moisturize her entire body and even applies it to the ends of her hair.
Of course, there are several things involved with nice skin, but let’s focus on organic coconut oil for now. It’s not that expensive and certainly lasts quite a while, so it will not only leave your skin smooth and glowing, but your bank account fatter!
Skin feeling dry? Have you been so busy trying to accomplish all your goals, or even just your day-to-day duties, in this crazy-fast life that you’ve forgotten to care for your body’s largest organ: your skin? Drizzle a little coconut oil in your bathwater and enjoy the soak. You’ll be moisturized from head to toe and will smell—and feel—divine afterward!
Whether it’s wrinkles you’re sick of, sagging skin and age spots, or just have huge, unsightly pores, organic coconut oil is a fantabulous option for moisturizing and caring for your face. You can apply the coconut oil to your face before you go out in the sun and/or after you’ve been sunburned. Organic coconut oil is great for your complexion, it smells sweet and delicious—and just makes you feel pretty and freshened up!
When you’re out in the wind, do your lips become dry and cracked? Maybe you’ve had an irritating – and ugly – fever blister pop up… Organic coconut oil is perfect for moistening and helping your lips’ healing process. Try it, you’ll see!
Wishing your hair was longer, or more luxurious? Try a coconut oil treatment. Simply pour some coconut oil in your hand and massage it into your scalp. Cover your entire head and all of your hair with it. You can then just wrap your head in a plastic sack or plastic wrap and then wrap it up in a towel. You can leave this on for a few minutes and wash it out, or you can sleep in it overnight. You might have to wash your hair a couple of times to get all the oily residue out, but your hair will shine from all the love and nourishment the coconut oil provides!
Are your poor, tired feet dry and scaly? How about cracked heels? For treating your feet with coconut oil, all you have to do is massage some of the oil all over your feet and toes. You could also get a pan of warm water and add a tablespoon or so of the coconut oil to it and soak your feet for a few minutes. (Add a little organic apple cider vinegar to your soaking water for some extra pizzazz.) Your feet will definitely thank you!
Hands looking wrinkled and/or feeling dry? What about your nails? Rub organic coconut oil on your hands, just like you would lotion. It’s an excellent moisturizer!!
Wow from Within
Organic coconut oil is so tasty drizzled over a salad or a gazillion other raw recipes. It’s healthy, too: it can lower your cholesterol, may help promote healthy blood sugar levels, can help heal eczema and other skin rashes. Coconut oil is also known to be energizing—it’s amazing!
Bonus: The A.P. John Institute for Cancer Research encourages coconut oil as a safe and healthy food for skin cancer patients!
Welcome Weight Loss
It’s true! Many people think that coconut oil is bad for consumption, and that it’ll harm their heart—but it’s the exact opposite! Organic coconut oil is excellent for your health, in more ways than one. Not only can it help curb your appetite and speed up your metabolism, it may be just what you need to win the war on those last few stubborn pounds.
Whether you want to try organic coconut oil for weight loss, damaged hair, dry feet and hands, to freshen up your face, or all-of-the-above, a jar of organic coconut oil is the perfect investment for finding or maintaining your raw health and beauty!
